Life really can begin at 50, says singer Dani Bernstein. A former opera singer who had not sung for more than two decades, 51-year-old Ms Bernstein is now re-establishing her career — with help from some high-profile friends.
She is working with well-known vocal coaches Carrie and David Grant — best known for their involvement with the BBC’s Fame Academy and whose client list includes Take That, Melanie C and Lemar. She plans to release her debut album next year.
She tells People: “I used to be an opera singer but when I got married, other things took over.” She got divorced after 23 years and decided to return to singing. “I love how through singing you can connect to people. I never thought I’d be back on the platform. I want to show that life really can begin at 50. ”
