The chairman of West Yorkshire Conservative Future has been suspended after calling his election campaign after a Nazi squadron who led Jews into the gas chambers.
Student David Bolt, 20, the area chairman of the Conservative youth wing wrote to members, likening their election campaign to the Nazi Sonderkommando, the Yorkshire Evening Post reported.
In last month's edition of the Yorkshire and Humber Conservative Future's monthly newsletter, he wrote: “We will form a CF Sonderkommando to blitz any areas which prospective parliamentary candidates particularly wish to target, whether that be through canvassing, literature drops or visible, high-impact campaigning.”
Mr Bolt, who is studying music at the University of Huddersfield, was appointed as the CF's West Yorkshire area chairman in December.
He has been suspended from the Conservative Party and all reference to him deleted from the Conservative Future website.
His father is Councillor Martyn Bolt, deputy Conservative leader on Kirklees Council, West Yorkshire.
Sonderkommandos worked in Nazi death camps where they were primarily responsible for disposing of Jewish corpses, and other victims of the gas chambers.
