York Liberals recruit their first rabbi

articlemain

The new Liberal community in York has appointed a student minister, Daniel Lichman, to lead services, organise educational, social and cultural events and care for members’ pastoral needs over the next year.

Mr Lichman grew up in the Radlett Reform congregation and has been an RSY-Netzer movement worker and education director at the Alyth Reform shul in Golders Green. He is in the fourth year of a five-year rabbincal course at London’s Leo Baeck College.

“I am excited by the freedom that I will have to develop the role and and re-establishing Jewish life in York,” he said.
