World Jewish Relief has launched an emergency appeal to assist those affected by the devastating floods in Pakistan, which have killed over 1,000 people and affected nearly two million others.
The floods - the heaviest in Pakistan for 80 years - have contaminated vital water sources. Officials fear greater problems if the floods reach more populated provinces.
Working with partners on the ground, WJR will be using money raised to provide non-food essentials, emergency shelter, health care and materials for the process of providing clean water and sanitation.
WJR chief executive Paul Anticoni said "the scale of need is overwhelming. WJR is proud to be in a position to call on its supporters to demonstrate our continued desire to help those both within and outside the Jewish community.
"We will work to ensure that all funds raised will directly benefit those who need them most."
