"Better than Beckham" is the claim of special needs charity Kisharon after its dinner appeal video scooped a major industry award for the second successive year.
The production company Vanilla Films took the Gold Evcom Clarion Award for its three-minute video, Through My Eyes, which used heightened sound effects to give an understanding of how the world appears to people with learning disabilities.
Having helped the charity to raise £800,000 from the dinner, it was chosen for the prize in the celebratory films category ahead of a Unicef production featuring David Beckham.
Vanilla Films' co-managing directors Debra Sobel and Karen Benveniste accepted the award with Kisharon fundraising director Richard Franklin at the London ceremony.
"We are thrilled that we have won, given the calibre of the other nominees," Ms Sobel said.
"It is wonderful working with Kisharon as they are prepared to take creative risks - and this has clearly paid off."
Ms Benveniste added: "After last year's award, we didn't expect to repeat our success.
"It's a credit to Kisharon for trusting us as film-makers."
