Chief Rabbi Lord Sacks made a plea to the community not to forget the Leeds Jewish Welfare Board during the economic downturn, writes John Fisher.
Addressing more than 300 people at LJWB's annual general meeting at the Marjorie and Arnold Ziff centre Lord Sacks said : "It's much harder when times are not good and that is when tzedakah is really needed."
From the MAZ centre Lord Sacks went to Brodetsky Primary where he was escorted on a tour by head teacher Jeremy Dunford.
