Village feels like home

articlemain

The Village Shul has received permanent approval from Camden Council to continue operating from the former premises of Hampstead's New End Theatre.

The congregation - which started off with services in a private home - took over the New End site just after Rosh Hashanah. It has proved a good fit, with up to 150 people attending services at peak times and 50 children at the Sunday cheder.

Now the temporary consent to run services and other activities has been upgraded.

"This is the shul's home for the foreseeable future," said Rabbi Yisroel Weisz.
