Tracy-Ann Oberman was crowned Mastermind celebrity champion at the weekend, raising £1,500 for Chai Cancer Care in the process.
Ms Oberman, who also supported the British Heart Foundation, finished three points clear of the field in the BBC special, finishing on 16.
In competition with entertainer Debbie McGee, TV presenter Ben Cajee and comedian Kiri Pritchard-McLean, the actress demonstrated historical knowledge in her chosen category, the women of imperial Rome.
But she was “most proud” of her performance in the general knowledge round, scoring 11 out of 15.
Speaking afterwards, Ms Oberman said she was “delighted to support Chai Cancer Care. It’s the most loving and invaluable support system for cancer patients and their families.
“Plus, my sister works for them and I see first-hand the tireless devotion to easing pain and suffering.”
Sending her congratulations, charity chair Louise Hager said the money would help to “ensure that we can continue to make a tangible difference to the lives of all those who turn to us. We are so grateful for her loyal support”.
