An initiative to get more “mature women” involved in volunteering has been launched to mark the 80th birthday of “professional volunteer” Ros Preston.
The Jewish Volunteering Network’s President’s Project — Mrs Preston is the JVN president — will encourage women to befriend and support the elderly and lonely.
Around 100 women attended a brunch in Mrs Preston’s honour at The Grove in Watford on Sunday.
More than 20 charities from the Jewish and wider spectrum which continue to benefit from Mrs Preston’s efforts were represen-ted.
