The three major Leeds Jewish welfare organisations are seeking new chief executives following the sudden resignation “for personal reasons” of Carol Whitehead, CEO of the Donisthorpe Hall residential home.
Mrs Whitehead — who has been on leave of absence for the past few weeks — began at Donisthorpe in 1998 as director of care services, having gained healthcare experience in both the NHS and the independent sector. She became chief executive two years later and was instrumental in the £3 million modernisation of the 183-bed care home. Donisthorpe chair Andrew Brown said: “The decision was hers to make and it came quite suddenly.”
In July, Leeds Jewish Housing Association chief executive Darren Cooper also left his post suddenly. In the same month, Leeds Jewish Welfare Board CEO Rebecca Weinberg announced she would be stepping down in a year’s time.
