A seven-hour Israeli dance marathon has raised £6,500 for cancer charities.
Around 170 supporters of north London charity Dance for Life — founded in 2001 in memory of a dancer — took to the floor at a Wembley school in aid of Chai Cancer Care and Cancer Research UK.
Organiser Dr Caroline Hoffbrand said: “Dancing is such a good way to keep healthy, and such an expression of vitality, that it seems an appropriate way to raise money. Everyone had a great time. We danced until three in the morning. The Israeli dance community is an international one and we had people coming from France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Italy and Lithuania, as well as from Israel and America.”
