Identical twins Sidney Tabizel and Harry Tobias celebrated their 90th birthday with a surprise afternoon tea party on Sunday.

They were joined at the Royal Chace Hotel in Enfield, North London, by 75 family members spanning four generations.

"It was a surprise to see everyone there," said Harry. "They were all asking what the secret to a long life is."
The answer, he said, is "clean living" and to "keep taking the tablets".

He added: "I have had a few medical conditions, but they have not stopped me. I do not feel any different to when I was 89."

Sidney said: "We get on extremely well together but unfortunately Harry lives in Essex and I'm in Harrow, so it's a bit of a schlep to meet up."

The twins were born on October 28, 1918, in London's East End. They were separated for the first time after enlisting for the army in 1939 and both went on to serve across Europe and the Middle East.

After the war, Sidney set up a menswear business and Harry, who changed his surname some 40 years ago, ran a silk screen printing business.

The Tottenham Hotspur fans were presented with cakes in the shape of Spurs football shirts in recognition of supporting the club for around 75 years.
