Arsenal and Spurs legends kicked-off a campaign to fundraise for Laniado Hospital’s neo-natal intensive care unit in Netanya.
Former Gunners Paul Merson and Perry Groves and ex-Spurs David Howells and Ruel Fox were among those featuring in a charity match also involving community players at Wingate and Finchley FC on Sunday.
Off the pitch, younger fans enjoyed arts and crafts and glittery face painting.
A signed Arsenal football was up for grabs in a raffle which contributed to a £30,000 fundraising total.
Spurs won the game 6-2 and although on the losing side, Merson said the day had been “really enjoyable. I would do it again in a heartbeat.”
The hospital serves a catchment area population of over 500,000 and of 8,000 annual births, more than 500 are premature.
