Norwood's inclusive sports programme, Change the Game, has been boosted by a £121,000 grant from City of London Corporation charity the City Bridge Trust.

Change the Game offers sporting activities for those with learning disabilities.

The grant will be used to deliver the final stages of the programme, helping participants to pursue sports at an elite level.

Around 400 young people will be involved over a three-year period, 100 of them engaging at a high sporting level with help from Norwood staff and volunteers. A small number will also receive job training.

Norwood head of operations Pauline Smith said the charity believed "that people with learning disabilities should have the same opportunities as everyone else to reach their full potential. This funding will enable us to work with people who want to take part in international sports challenges, the Special Olympics, or to find a job in the industry."
