Communities outside the capital can apply for a share of a £100,000 fund to support innovative Jewish projects.
Sparks — the Clore Jewish Development Fund — will be making its third year of disbursements with a maximum individual award of £20,000.
Applicants are encouraged “to approach this funding opportunity in creative and imaginative ways”.
The fund was launched in 2007 and beneficiaries have included the regional Limmud programme and Mitzvah Day volunteering projects.
Limmud chair Elliott Goldstein said the backing of Sparks had helped expand its activities outside the capital to the point where over 3,300 people last year attended a regional Limmud.
“We have used our investment from Sparks to support and train the 340 volunteers in 14 regional locations who are responsible for organising Limmuds in their local community.”
Mitzvah Day’s Laura Marks said its Sparks grant helped the organisers to engage “with communities across the country relieving hardship, working on the environment and bringing a little joy”.
