Shop pays at Wolfson

articlemain

A one-day charity shop set up and run by pupils at Wolfson-Hillel primary school raised nearly £1,000 for Jewish Blind and Disabled and the British Heart Foundation, as well as going towards a new school playground.

The idea for the shop emerged when the 60 children in year four at the Southgate school, who had been learning about charity and kindness in their topic lessons, decided they wanted to raise money for their chosen charities.

Said a school spokesman afterwards: "The children planned an amazing event, raised an incredible amount of money, and proved that they are capable of showing that they really do care."
