A MANCHESTER burglar who stole from Jewish houses has been jailed after admitting 28 break-ins.
Michal Juras, 24, lived close to most of his victims in Salford, in the heart of Manchester’s Jewish community.
He was charged with five burglaries at Manchester Crown Court but admitted a further 23. He was jailed for three years and six months.
Juras was arrested in December after police searching his home found a safe he had stolen from a house in Singleton Road, Salford, along with thousands of pounds of jewellery and personal items from burglaries on other Jewish streets in Broughton Park and Sedgley Park. In one robbery, he smashed the window of a house in Hereford Drive, Prestwich, where he was disturbed by the homeowner. He punched her in the face before fleeing with a charity cash box containing £90. PC Chris Jackson said: “Juras is a serial burglar who has targeted the Higher Broughton and Sedgley Park neighbourhoods. I hope this sentence brings some conclusion to residents who were affected.”
