Gordon Brown will continue to work for peace and security for Israel, his wife Sarah assured Emunah members in North London on Wednesday.

Addressing around 200 women at Emunah’s 75th anniversary lunch at the Hendon Hall Hotel, Mrs Brown highlighted the family’s “strong ties with Israel”, adding: “Gordon’s father is the chairman of the Church of Scotland’s Israel committee and growing up, Gordon learned about the tribulations and struggle of the Jewish people and the sacrifices to establish the State of Israel.

“Gordon has always kept his interest and support for Israel and will work for the peace and security for the people of Israel.”

She had earlier told the JC of her admiration for Emunah. “What is so special about Emunah is the way it has developed over the years, remaining committed to its values,” she said. “Its services reflect the ever-changing needs of children in society.”
