Thirty members of the Jewish Lads' and Girls' Brigade's Israel tour spent an afternoon with Gordon Brown's wife Sarah in Jerusalem last week.
Mrs Brown, who accompanied the Prime Minister on his Israel trip, met the JLGB group on the steps of the King David Hotel. She shared her impressions of Israel and heard about the brigade party's tour experiences during a question-and-answer interchange.
"It was really interesting," reported Lauren Cirsch, 16, from Ilford. "She said it was her first time in Israel but she had seen pictures from her husband's trips. She really likes the weather. She definitely saw how close a group we were. It was the best three weeks of my life."
Jewish identity, leadership skills, citizenship and social action were aspects of the three-week tour, organised through the UJIA Israel Experience programme.
