Iconic British sweets made by Rowntree's have now been approved kosher by a London Beth Din after getting a vegan makeover.
Fruit Pastilles, Fruit gums, and Jelly Tots have all been approved as Pareve by rabbinic authorities after they were reformulated to contain no animal products by Rowntree.
Other recent additions to the KLBD Kosher list include sea salted Proper Chips, Kiddylicious Veggie Straws and Warburton fruity buns, while Robinson's blackcurrant squash has lost its approval due to the inclusion of red grape juice in the new recipe.
Rowntree's has joined other UK sweet manufacturers in going vegan in recent years following in the footsteps of Nestlé's plant-based KitKat and Cadbury vegan Dairy Milk bars.
Last year, KLBD approved a range of McVitie’s biscuits, including milk and dark chocolate Hobnobs.
Original, lights and milk and dark chocolate digestives were also approved, although plain Hobnobs are not.
