An injection of funding has enabled building work to resume on Stamford Hill children's respite care home, Bayis Sheli.
Construction was restarted last month on the £6.3 million project, supporting strictly Orthodox children across the UK with severe disabilities.

The development - incorporating en-suite bedroom facilities, a hydrotherapy pool and sensory room - was initially expected to open in 2012, but was delayed when the charity ran out of funding. Now the hope is that it will be operational by the end of this year.

Donations from the Maurice Wohl Charitable Foundation and philanthropist Leo Noé, as well as from other private donors, got the project back on track. Trustee Alex Strom said: "It has been quite a struggle, but the project is long overdue and very much needed."

Bayis Sheli will accommodate up to 18 young people at a time, giving parents an essential break."There is no other such facility as this in the UK [for the strictly Orthodox], which is a crying shame." Mr Strom added.
