Further setbacks to Radlett United's £1.8 million refurbishment and renovation have dashed hopes of completion of the shul in time for Pesach.
Members have put up with dirt, dust and inconvenience since work began in November 2013.
Services are being held in the adjoining communal hall, which was completed in 2014. But work on the shul has been beset by glitches of varying degrees of magnitude.
"Everyone has been working very hard to get this finished so it is all very disappointing," said shul chair Alex Pomerance.
"It would have been symbolic for us to celebrate Pesach in our new shul but we were determined that everything should be exactly right from the start.
"However, I am optimistic that I will be able to announce a final date for completion of the work at our May 23rd AGM."
