Radlett pondering its building options

articlemain

Hertsmere Council planners have given Radlett Synagogue the green light to demolish the former village hall it inhabits and replace it with a state-of-the-art shul. But the synagogue leadership is pondering alternative scenarios.

An application to the council to remove a redundant condition imposed when full planning permission was originally granted nearly two years ago was unanimously approved last week.

But although delighted at the decision, Radlett chair Andy Katz pointed out that "the scheme was originally conceived several years ago and our board of management is now considering several other possible options for developing the shul and enhancing its facilities.

"We need now to consult our members once again on the best way forward and aim to present our recommendations at an extraordinary EGM."
