Immanuel College sixth-formers sought the perspective of pupils from other schools on how the government should spend its money at a conference organised by the Three Faiths Forum's Shared Futures Project.

The theme of the discussion at Pax Lodge, Hampstead, was the economy, specifically collective and individual financial responsibility. The programme began with a panel discussion on funding for the NHS. Participants then played board games to illustrate how they would distribute the government's budget.

Year 12 Immanuel pupil Joshua Silverblatt said: "This conference isn't necessarily to make long-lasting friendships with people of other faiths. It's just to get to know them and see our different opinions, because a lot of us - especially from religious schools and religious upbringings - don't really see people of other faiths so much."

Harry Levene added that "seeing people from different backgrounds, you just realise how they're regular people. We all like to think that we see everyone as an individual, but even if it's really mild, we all have stereotypes."
