Prescriptive talks try to ease symptoms

articlemain

Doctors at a top London hospital are hosting an event to educate the Jewish community on medical issues prevalent among Jews.

The talks, which are taking place in Belsize Square Synagogue on July 6 and North Western Reform Synagogue on July 17, are being led by a group of eminent Jewish consultants at The Garden Hospital in Hendon and will cover topics including cardiology, breast cancer, allergies, irritable bowel syndrome and the ageing process.

Dr Steve Mann, consultant physician and gastroenterologist at The Garden Hospital, said: "Some symptoms and conditions can be awkward or embarrassing, stopping people from coming forward to seek medical advice.

"Being able to get out into our community and share our knowledge, expertise and advice with the local Jewish population is helping us change attitudes and get people talking."
