Camden's Jewish Museum will integrate artefacts from the Jewish Military Museum into its permanent galleries from next spring following the closure of the military museum's Hendon premises.

Through a merger, the Jewish Museum will assume responsibility for the military museum's collection of 4,000 objects, plus its learning programme.

Jewish Museum chief executive Abigail Morris said: "The addition of these fascinating objects will enrich our storytelling and allow us to highlight the contribution of Jewish servicemen and women to Britain. This partnership is also an important step in the Jewish Museum's ambitions to be a hub for British Jewish culture, history and identity."

Military museum founder and president Henry Morris said the merger would help to showcase the Jewish military contribution as "a fundamental part of the history of Anglo-Jewry".
