Jeremy Corbyn "hasn't got very good judgment, which means that some of the people around him are utterly awful", Leeds North East MP Fabian Hamilton has told a Wizo audience.
Addressing the local group's annual lunch, the long-serving MP said he had got to know Mr Corbyn through their passionate opposition to nuclear weapons. "I have to say, he is one of the nicest people I have ever met."
He did not believe Mr Corbyn had an issue with Jews but had concerns about some of those he was associated with.
Mr Hamilton would put money on Mr Corbyn not being Labour leader at the next general election.
His preferred successor would be Shadow Foreign Secretary Hilary Benn, even though he disagreed with aspects of Mr Benn's "incredible speech" in favour of British air strikes in Syria.
