The trustees of Etz Chaim Primary School in Mill Hill have submitted a second planning application to Barnet Council for its intended permanent home on the site of a former garden centre in Daws Lane.
It follows a legal challenge by opponents of its location and the council’s admission that it failed to give due regard to the needs of the elderly and disabled when it approved the orginal plans.
Governors’ chair Adam Dawson said the fresh application had been made “on the basis that it appears the first planning application is likely to be quashed in the near future. The second one does not differ materially from the first, but we are now looking at ways in which we can best make the site work for the benefit of the whole community.”
The application will be subject to public consultation, with a decision expected by the end of the year.
