TEL Aviv Chief Rabbi Yisrael Meir Lau formally opened Manchester King David Schools’ new campus on Sunday, also helping to bring in tens of thousands of pounds at a fundraiser.

“Education is the most important thing and this is why you must support King David,” Rabbi Lau told an audience of 400, including Bury MP Ivan Lewis.

King David needs to raise £2 million as an agreed contribution to the construction of its £22 million campus by he government’s Schools for the Future scheme.
