The £75,000 raised from Magen David Adom UK’s annual Manchester dinner completed a £600,000 local project to fund the reconstruction and refurbishment of the MDA station in Hadera.
Guest speaker was Amos Levitov, who lectures about the psychological consequences of his time as a PoW in Egypt. He has been assisting released hostage Gilad Shalit to re-adjust to life as a free man and also helps MDA staff and volunteers to deal with high pressure situations. The dinner was attended by 120 people.
Manchester MDA chair Jeremy Hart said afterwards that the community had been “focused for three years on helping the people of Hadera and saving more lives.
“The incredible generosity of our supporters has brought that goal one step closer.”
