Manchester pupils attended a special screening of Nicky's Family, charting how Sir Nicholas Winton helped to rescue hundreds of children from the Nazis.
One of those rescued, Lady Milena Grenfell-Baines, spoke at the screening, which was organised by Manchester City Council and UK Jewish Film.
Local authority education advisers are considering a suggestion by Manchester Jewish Representative Council president Lucille Cohen that the film be used as part of the religious education curriculum.
UK Jewish Film executive director Judy Ironside has pledged her assistance, saying: "Nicky's Family is a prime example of the power of film to reach out and inform people about the Holocaust. It has really wide appeal, as we saw at the Manchester event."
