Women executives of communal organisations have banded together in support of a campaign encouraging women to take up leadership roles.
Fifteen female chiefs of charities from Jewish Blind and Disabled to Kisharon attended the launch of the Women CEO Network, a forum set up by the Women in Jewish Leadership group.
Tzedek chief executive Jude Williams said the network gave female leaders “a chance to put our heads together and think about our role in helping other women up the ladder. It’s rewarding to work together on something that can benefit the whole community.”
Langdon’s Alison Rosen was “overwhelmed by the existing talent and passion, as well as the potential to inspire future woman lay and professional leaders from the Jewish community”.
Women in Jewish Leadership is planning an Award for Change recognising organisations “looking to become more gender-equal.
“Groups will be rated on their individual targets in redressing imbalance,” WJL said.
