The decision not to close Golders Green police station has been welcomed by the Community Security Trust.
It was revealed last month that a number of public counters in police stations would close, to be replaced by reporting desks in community centres and places of worship.
A suggested alternative for Golders Green was having a counter open to the public in the safer neighbourhood team office on Golders Green Road on Fridays and Saturdays. The plan drew criticism from local leaders.
Barnet Greater London Assembly member Andrew Dismore, who campaigned against the move, was “very pleased” with the support received.
