More than 550 people attended Langdon’s gala dinner in Manchester on Sunday, making it the educational charity’s largest ever fundraiser.
Hosted by BBC presenter Louise Minchin and featuring the Langdon choir, it raised £400,000-plus for the charity’s work with young adults with mild-to-moderate learning difficulties.
Charity chair Jonathan Joseph said afterwards: “Langdon has grown considerably since the opening of our college in 1993 and none of this could have been achieved without the generous donations from our supporters.
“The fact that we had a record number of people attending the dinner is a reflection of the appreciation so many people have towards our work to support people with learning disabilities to live independently in their community.”
