The owner of Manchester's Milky Dream kosher restaurant is pleased to be trading again almost a year after part of the shop-front collapsed.

On September 11, Yoel Wreschner, 24, arrived at work to find that a wall had become detached from the rest of the building.

He attributed the collapse to construction work on a large new apartment block nearby.

A structural engineer for CPUK, the company building the £3.7m development, assessed that the premises were unsafe. CPUK maintains that the construction work was not responsible for the damage.
Repairs cost over £40,000 and a claim for loss of earnings has yet to be settled by the restaurant's insurer. Nonetheless, Mr Wreschner is "very happy to be back up and running. I hope to get our old customers back."
