Now in its eighth year, the Holocaust educational programme organised by the Kingston United and Liberal congregations will reach 1,100 school and university students.

And a much-missed contributor will be Kingston Liberal member Annemarie Seelig, who died recently, aged 91.
She regularly spoke about her pre-war life in Dresden and her escape to England with her mother and brother in 1938.

This year’s Kingston programme speakers include Auschwitz survivor Martin Bennett, Kindertransport refugees Bronia Snow, Gerald Cohen and Eric Cohen, and hidden children Marcel Ladenheim and Annick Lever.
Among the participants will be trainee teachers from Roehampton University and a number of Kings College London undergraduates taking a Holocaust literature course as part of their degree.

Children from both synagogues took part in Kingston’s civic commemoration event at the borough’s Guildhall on Sunday.
