Kaiser Chief to judge Leeds bash

articlemain

With Kaiser Chiefs star Ricky Wilson confirmed as celebrity judge for the Leeds' music festival, Choirs Rock, fans may, to quote the Kaiser Chiefs' hit, predict a riot.

The event in February will raise money for Jewish youth club The Zone, the Leeds Jewish Representative Council and Cancer Research UK.

Committee member Alexa Harris said the singer, a former Leeds Grammar School pupil, was a friend of the family, and had agreed to judge the competition. Ms Harris said: "We're so grateful to him for doing this."

Six community choirs will compete in the event on February 26 at the Royal Armouries. Based on the format of ITV's The Choir that Rocks, choirs signed up to compete include Allerton High School and King David Manchester.

Angela Sherman, one of the organisers, said: "It's going to be a fun, rocking evening and we hope to raise thousands of pounds for charity."
