Jewish Care is urging Redbridge community members to express support for its £25 million campus development following the submission of a planning application to Redbridge Council.
The charity says there have been positive discussions with council officers over the proposed transformation of the Redbridge Jewish Community Centre site, formerly known as Sinclair House.
It has been “thrilled” by the supportive feedback from the community since unveiling its plans in the summer.
However, with the planning application submitted, “we need our supporters and residents in the area to help show the council how important this development is to them, the local community and to Jewish Care”.
It wants residents to submit a letter of support for the development to the council.
Chief executive Daniel Carmel-Brown said: “We are delighted to have reached this stage.
“We also know that from consultations with the community, our plans for this development have received wide support.
“We now need that support to be shown to the council so that we can move forward.
“That’s why we’re so grateful to those living in the Redbridge area for submitting letters of support to let the Council know just how much this new development is needed and would be valued by the community."
Further information is available on the Jewish Care website.
As well as space for community activities, the planned development will feature a centre for people living with dementia and a 66-bed care home. Jewish Care’s existing local care home, Vi and John Rubens House, will relocate to the new premises.
