Jewish Care organised a variety of events, including coffee mornings, lunches, parties - and even wacky TikTok dances to honour its thousands of volunteers during Volunteers’ Week.
The charity has 3,000 volunteers across the organisation, who support staff across a wide-range of services and activities, from care homes and community centres to support groups and meals on wheels.
Among a number of memorable moments, a group of volunteers from Jewish Care’s Michael Sobell Jewish Community Centre in Golders Green posted a dance routine to Beyonce’s Texas Hold’Em on Jewish Care’s TikTok.
Meanwhile, at Jewish Care’s Southend and Westcliff Jewish Community Centre, volunteers were treated to a celebratory lunch, and at the Brenner Stepney Jewish Community Centre, volunteers were put to the test with a quiz all about volunteering.

Elaine, who has been volunteering for Jewish Care since 2007, described the experience as uplifting. She said: "Everyone should do it. It’s fabulous. Doing something positive lifts your spirits every week, and the atmosphere is just lovely. The more you give, the more you get back."
Jo Selwyn, Jewish Care’s department manager for volunteering, shared her gratitude. “I want to say a huge thank you to all our volunteers. Your dedication and care are greatly appreciated by us all. Our lives and the lives of all those people we support are more enriched because of you.”

She added: “Volunteers are the heartbeat of Jewish Care, providing immense support to our staff and resources. The impact our volunteers have on our service users and the organisation allows us to continue our vital work. We couldn’t do it without them.”
