Interlink in Manchester has been selected by the Mayor of Salford as one of his three charities.
The Charedi organisation, which raised £90,000-plus for community projects last year, has forged a major working partnership with Salford Council, which has funded key family and adult vocational training schemes.
Next week, the mayor, Councillor George Wilson, will launch the appeal in aid of Interlink at at Brackmans kosher bakery and Halpern's kosher store.
Councillor Wilson said that without Interlink, "there would be a lot of people worse off. It's a worthy cause and serves the people of Salford, which is the main thing."
