West London Synagogue has produced a haggadah for use at interfaith events.
The haggadah was launched at a demonstration Seder hosted by the synagogue at the House of Lords for faith leaders from Westminster.
Senior rabbi Mark Winer explained that it was basically a Progressive haggadah that can be used at home for a regular Seder, but with additional “echoes from other traditions” that made it appropriate for dialogue events.
The extra material includes reflections on freedom ranging from the Koran to the Hindu Upanishads, and from Sir Winston Churchill to the early Chinese thinker Lao Tzu. There are also explanations on the significance of Jerusalem to Jews, Muslims and Christians, as well as on the link to Pesach of the Last Supper.
