British Emunah runners raised £15,000 to rebuild the kitchen at the charity’s Neve Landy Children’s Village, a residential home for 75 at-risk boys in Southern Israel.
Gadi Melcer (6:05) was inspired by volunteering with Emunah in his Bnei Akiva days and said the experience and atmosphere had been “amazing”.
Clive Goodman (5:54) “loved the opportunity to do this for a second time. Most importantly, I’m delighted to have raised money for Neve Landy — a safe and protected place that allows vulnerable children and teenagers to flourish.”
For its quickest finisher, Ezra Citron (3:32), there was a family motivation. “My mum has done a lot of charity work for Emunah in the past and I’m pleased I was able to keep that family connection going.” Almost as fast was Paul Jayson (3:36), who was doubly pleased, having had to pull out through injury last year.
And for Leeds-based Claire Gothelf, finishing her sixth London Marathon in 5:57 “gave me great satisfaction — not just completing the race but knowing that the money raised would go to British Emunah and the wonderful work they do with children and families in Israel”.
