Debbie Lebrett is quitting as head of Hasmonean Boys’ School to become the chief executive of employment charity Work Avenue and will start her role in January.

Ms Lebrett has been Hasmonean head since the start of 2016, having previously held senior roles at other London secondary schools.

She said that “having worked for many years in the community, I have always known of the transformative achievements of Work Avenue, supporting people to earn a living with dignity.

“I could not be more proud and excited to be joining them at a time when their services are needed more than ever.

“As our community faces a difficult winter with rising costs, I am very excited to get started so we can extend our reach and our services to all those in the community who need employment or business support.”

Work Avenue Chair Mark Morris said Ms Lebrett’s “reputation for excellence is well known and I am certain she will bring all her skills and experience to Work Avenue, taking our organisation to the next level at this pivotal time.”
