A new guide highlights grass-roots activities within British Jewry.

The Community Lover’s Guide to the Jewish Community is the latest segment of a 30-part series, The Community Lover’s Guide to the Universe. Segment editor Russell Collins said it was the only faith-based element of the collection. He wanted to draw attention to “people-led, rather than institutional, hierarchical or organised initiatives.

“It’s about looking into existing resources rather than pumping money into new things.”

The pictorial guide — available as a free PDF download from November 7 — includes information on activities including Limmud, Gefiltefest, Mitzvah Day and Langdon’s gardening project. It will be launched on Wednesday at London’s JHub.

Laura Billings, co-editor of The Community Lover’s Guide to the Universe, said the guides offered “an exploration of how imagination and radical collaboration lead to positive change”
