The Board of Deputies’ Henry Grunwald is taking on a new presidential role, this time for World Jewish Relief.
Assuming the WJR ambassadorial post from June, Mr Grunwald will support the charity’s goal of increasing the number of communities and individuals assisted.
He will represent WJR at key events, visit overseas projects and work with the chairman and chief executive to encourage wider support.
“WJR has an exceptional history, an exemplary reputation and a remarkable profile,” Mr Grunwald said. “The charity’s values are exemplified by the leadership and good governance of its council and by the energy and commitment of its staff and volunteers.”
For WJR, chairman Nigel Layton believed Mr Grunwald’s “unrivalled experience and expertise — both within and outside the Jewish community — will provide an invaluable advisory resource for the whole WJR team.”
