GCSE joy at King David

The King David schools in Manchester and Liverpool followed impressive A-level results with a bumper crop of GCSEs.

At Manchester KD, 99 per cent of candidates achieved five grades between A-star to C and there was a 100 per cent pass rate for all subjects for its 118 GCSE students. Seventy-eight per cent of all results were B grade or above.

Delighted governors' chair Joshua Rowe said the grades were "a tribute to the dedicated and inspiring teachers and a tribute to hard working and delightful pupils".

Liverpool KD is celebrating its best GCSE results. More than 94 per cent of pupils attained five subjects graded A-star to C and there was a 100 per cent overall pass rate.

Top achievers included Rosie Brown, with eight A-stars and three As, and Joshua Davies with nine A-stars, an A and a B. Rebecca Hayward achieved six A-stars and 5 As and Hila Chenzbraun passed 10 GCSEs, nine in the top two grades.
