The first trip to Poland for parents whose children attend Wolfson Hillel Primary was described by participants as educational and emotional.

The 18 parents on the two-day programme were led by Rabbi David Mason from Muswell Hill Synagogue with help from the United Synagogue's community services division.

The group's visit included a guided tour of Auschwitz-Birkenau.

Wolfson Hillel parent Nicky Marks, who initiated the trip, said: "The trip was hugely educational, unbelievably emotional and highly inspirational."

The US has previously run Poland trips for its communities and now plans further visits for school parents.
