Manchester welfare charity The Fed is looking for a car - but not just any old car. A 1960s Morris Minor, or something similar, is sought as the centrepiece for a garden for dementia sufferers at its Heathlands care campus, which is undergoing a multi-million pound redevelopment.
But because of construction deadlines, the vehicle needs to be located quickly. As the Fed's Mark Cunningham explained: "We have just five weeks to get the car in situ after which the opportunity will be lost as the garden will be blocked in by buildings."
The project has been influenced by the reminiscence work at both Nightingale House in south London and a Jerusalem-based dementia charity.
