EHRS Stonegrove extended their lead at the top of the Maccabi Masters League Division Two table as they thumped Glenthorne 8-0.
Jeremy Derman helped himself to a hat-trick, James Cartmell scored twice, with Russell Rich, Ian Leader and Antony Levinson completing the rout. They have an eight-point lead after their nearest rivals St John’s Wood Tigers fell to a 5-2 defeat at Hendon Harriers. Andy Diamond put Harriers ahead, before strikes from Grant Taylor and Paul Herszaft saw Tigers go into the break 2-1 up. However, a second-half blitz from Harriers saw them score four times, Danny Fenton with a brace, Ben Simons with a 40-yard strike and a Nick Roman effort completing the scoring.
In the Maccabi GB Southern Football League, Premier Division title challengers HMH A booked their place into the Cyril Anekstein Cup final as they beat Division One champions Yallatasary 2-1.
In the Premier Division, reigning champions Oakwood moved out of the bottom two places and into fourth spot as they came away from Geez Park Rangers with a 5-3 win.
Redbridge Jewish Care moved up into fourth spot in Division One as they claimed a stunning 5-1 win at runners-up Millbrook Park Calcio. Danny Gold scored twice, with Jacob Flitterman, Ryan Cole and Ben Oldstein also finding the back of the net.
Mill Hill Minyan ended their Division Two campaign by claiming their fourth league win of the season, Jamie Boys’ last-minute goal securing a 1-0 win at bottom side Beitar Bushey. Minyan’s Saul Westbrook said: “We were ecstatic to get our first clean sheet of the season and will take this momentum into the cup competitions.”
There was also Group Stage action in the Barry Goldstein Trophy. Goals from Jordan Nathan, Aaron Diamond, Joe Shaw, Conor Brand, Sam Raphael, Scott Ansher and Benjamin Feldman saw Brady Maccabi win 7-2 at Rapid Viennas, while Bocher Juniors went one better, securing an 8-2 win at HMH Camden. The third game ended in a share of the spoils as HMH B and Hampstead Ducks played out a 2-2 draw. Zachary Collins and Joseph Metliss scored for Ducks.
London Lions’ First XI are up into joint-fourth of the Spartans South Midlands Football League Premier Division table as goals from Max Davis and Jake Rinsler saw them claim a 2-0 home win against Arlesey Town. They currently six points behind both the second and third-place teams in the table, though also have two games in hand on both sides.
London Lions’ Development weren’t able to match the first teams’ efforts as Sam Hamerton’s strike was a mere consolation as they lost 3-1 at OIR FC First. The defeat leaves them sitting in 11th place in the Herts Senior County League ACERBIS Premier Division table.
