Edgware shuls choir

articlemain

An Edgware cross-community male choir is busily rehearsing for its first public performances.

Founder member Stephen Ison says the 20 men and 10 boy ensemble will provide “a sound with a real wow factor”. A joint venture between the Edgware United, Yeshurun and Adath communities, the choir will also be available to sing at other Orthodox synagogues within walking distance. Yeshurun warden Colin Dworkin will be the conductor.

“We are already booked for two barmitzvahs in October,” Mr Ison reported, “but I fully expect that once people get to hear us the first time, we will be in even greater demand. We are not doing it simply because we feel there is a need for it, but because we all enjoy it.”
